Every legendary story has a beginning—and for Ducati, one of the most iconic chapters started at Imola in 1972.

That year, Paul Smart rode the Ducati 750 Imola Desmo to a stunning victory at the inaugural Imola 200. To make the achievement even more remarkable, his teammate Bruno Spaggiari crossed the finish line in second place, giving Ducati a historic 1–2 finish.
