DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro to the Osmo Action 6

เห็นบางท่านบอกว่าการอัพจาก DJI OSMO Action 5 PRO เป็น 6 ดูอาจจะไม่ค่อยมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงเท่าไร แต่ความเห็นผมจากที่ผมได้ลองใช้เบื้องต้น รู้สึกต่างมาก

การที่ ขนาดเซ็นเซอร์ ขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นไปเป็น 1/1.1 นิ้ว ในโจทย์หากถ่าย LOG Profile ผมว่าต่างขึ้นมาก สีดึงได้เยอะขึ้น มิติภาพดูสวยขึ้น เกิน คำว่า Action Camera ไปมากเลย
อีกจุดที่อัพเดทครั้งใหญ่ คือ เลนส์ปรับรูรับแสงได้ จุดนี้ตอบโจทย์ผมมากๆ เพราะบ่อยครั้ง อย่างเวลาไปขี่สนาม เจอแสงที่บางทีแรงเกินไป ใส่ND32 ก็ยังไม่พอ แต่ในรุ่น6 สามารถปรับค่ารูรับแสงได้ ได้ Detail ภาพกลับมาได้เยอะเลย
และอีกสถานการณ์ ที่แสงขาดๆเกิน ND8ก็น้อยไป ND16ก็มากไปหน่อย ก่อนหน้านี้ต้องปรับ ISO เอา แต่ตัวนี้ ปรับรูรับแสงเอา ได้รายละเอียดภาพที่สวยกว่า การปรับISO
ใน FW ใหม่ ส่วนของ UI ทำให้เราวัดแสงง่ายขึ้น ทำให้เลือกใช้ ND ได้แม่นขึ้น เพราะมี ค่าชดเชยแสงให้ดูขณะถ่ายเลย ส่วนนี้ผมไม่แน่ใจว่าในรุ่น 5 PRO ถ้าอัพ FW จะได้เหมือนกันไหม เพราะผมย้อนกลับมาใช้ในตัว 4 อัพเฟิร์มแวร์แล้วไม่มีส่วนนี้ ส่วน 5 PRO ตกจากมอไซค์ ความเร็ว เกือบ 2ร้อยไป 2ครั้ง ตอนนี้ port ด้านข้างใช้ไม่ได้ (แต่กล้องยังใช้ได้) ผมก็เลยไม่ได้ใช้
แต่ใน 6 FW ใหม่ ได้ทั้ง Log Assist และ ดูค่าชดเชยแสง แบบ Real time บอกเลยว่าสะดวกมาก อยากให้มีมานานแล้ว ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้ผมต้องใช้ระบบความรู้สึกในการเลือกใช้ ND แล้วมาแก้ในช่วงตัดต่อเอา ซึ่งบางครั้ง ถ้าเลือก ND ผิด ข้อจำกัดในการแก้ไขแสงและสีก็จะแคบมากๆ
วันนี้ผมเพิ่งได้กล้องมา หลังจากนี้ผลงานการขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์ภาพจะดีขึ้นอีก และเดี๋ยวใช้งานสักพัก เดี๋ยวผมมาทำคลิปดีดีบอกรายละเอียดให้ชมอีกทีนึงครับ
สรุปเลยว่า คุ้มค่าต่อการอัปเกรดครับ

Some people say that upgrading from the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro to the Osmo Action 6 does not bring many noticeable changes. However, based on my initial hands-on experience, I feel the difference very clearly.

The most significant upgrade is the larger 1/1.1-inch image sensor. When shooting in a LOG profile, the difference is substantial. There is noticeably more flexibility in color grading, richer tonal depth, and improved image dimension. The image quality goes far beyond what we typically expect from an action camera.
Another major update is the adjustable aperture lens, which perfectly fits my use case. Quite often—especially during track riding—the lighting can be extremely harsh. In the past, even using an ND32 filter was sometimes not enough. With the Action 6, adjusting the aperture allows me to recover far more image detail under intense light conditions.
There are also situations where lighting falls between ND strengths—ND8 is not enough, while ND16 is slightly too much. Previously, I had to compensate by adjusting ISO. With the Action 6, I can now adjust the aperture instead, which delivers significantly better image detail compared to increasing ISO.
With the new firmware update, the UI has been improved, making exposure measurement much easier and helping select ND filters more accurately. Real-time exposure compensation values are now visible while recording. I’m not entirely sure whether the Action 5 Pro will receive the same update via firmware, as I personally reverted to using the Action 4. After updating its firmware, this feature was not available.
As for my Action 5 Pro—it fell off my motorcycle twice at nearly 200 km/h. While the camera still works, the side port is no longer functional, so I haven’t been using it.
On the Osmo Action 6, the new firmware includes both Log Assist and real-time exposure compensation monitoring, which is incredibly convenient. This is a feature I’ve wanted for a long time. Previously, I had to rely purely on experience and intuition when choosing ND filters, then fix things in post-production. When the wrong ND was selected, the room for correcting exposure and color became extremely limited.
I’ve only just received the camera today, but from this point onward, the quality of my motorcycle riding footage will definitely improve. I’ll spend more time using it, and later I’ll put together a detailed video review to share my findings.
In summary: this upgrade is absolutely worth it.
