รู้หรือไม่! เครื่องยนต์ HONDA แบบนี้ ไม่ได้มีไว้แค่ทำเครื่องปั่นไฟหรือเครื่องจักรเท่านั้น แต่เอามาใส่ Go-Kart วิ่งแข่งกันจริงๆ ก็ได้

เครื่องที่เห็นอยู่นี้คือ Honda GX270 เครื่องยนต์อเนกประสงค์ สูบเดียว 4 จังหวะ OHV ขนาด 270cc ที่ถูกออกแบบมาให้รองรับการใช้งานได้หลากหลายมาก ตั้งแต่งานเกษตร เครื่องพรวนดิน ปั๊มน้ำ เครื่องกำเนิดไฟฟ้า เครื่องจักรในงานก่อสร้าง ไปจนถึงเอามาเป็นขุมพลังให้รถ Go-Kart แบบที่เห็นในภาพ

จุดเด่นของเครื่องยนต์ตระกูล GX คือ ความทนทานและความเรียบง่าย เพราะโจทย์ของเครื่องยนต์อเนกประสงค์แตกต่างจากเครื่องยนต์รถทั่วไป มันต้องสามารถทำงานต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลานาน มีความเสถียร ดูแลรักษาง่าย ประหยัดเชื้อเพลิง และตัวเครื่องมีขนาดกะทัดรัด สามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้กับเครื่องจักรได้หลากหลายประเภท

อย่าง GX270 ตัวนี้ เครื่องยนต์มีขนาด 270cc ให้กำลังสูงสุดประมาณ 8.4 แรงม้า ที่ 3,600 rpm และแรงบิดสูงสุด 19.1 Nm ที่ 2,500 rpm

แต่สิ่งที่น่าสนใจไม่ได้มีแค่เรื่องของเครื่องยนต์

ถ้ามองในมุมเศรษฐกิจ ประเทศไทยถือเป็นหนึ่งในฐานการผลิตที่สำคัญของ HONDA มาอย่างยาวนาน ไม่ได้มีเพียงการประกอบผลิตภัณฑ์สำเร็จรูป แต่ยังเชื่อมโยงกับผู้ผลิตชิ้นส่วนและ Supplier ภายในประเทศจำนวนมาก

เพราะฉะนั้น การผลิตในประเทศไทยจึงไม่ได้สร้างมูลค่าแค่ตอนเครื่องยนต์หนึ่งตัวออกจากสายการผลิต แต่ยังสร้างงานให้กับคนไทย เกิดการสั่งซื้อชิ้นส่วนจากผู้ผลิตในประเทศ เกิดองค์ความรู้และทักษะด้านการผลิต รวมถึงสร้างรายได้จากผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ผลิตเพื่อจำหน่ายทั้งในประเทศและส่งออกไปยังตลาดต่างประเทศ

นี่จึงเป็นอีกมุมหนึ่งของ HONDA ที่หลายคนอาจไม่ค่อยได้เห็น เพราะนอกจากรถยนต์และรถจักรยานยนต์แล้ว HONDA ยังมีธุรกิจ Power Products หรือเครื่องยนต์และผลิตภัณฑ์อเนกประสงค์ ที่อยู่เบื้องหลังเครื่องจักรอีกสารพัดชนิด

จากเครื่องยนต์ที่เอาไปสูบน้ำ ทำการเกษตร ทำงานก่อสร้าง…

จนถึงเอามาใส่ Go-Kart แล้วลงสนามแข่งกันได้

เครื่องยนต์ตัวเล็กๆ หนึ่งตัว จึงไม่ได้มีแค่เรื่องของแรงม้าหรือความทนทาน แต่เบื้องหลังยังเชื่อมโยงไปถึง อุตสาหกรรม การจ้างงาน และเม็ดเงินที่หมุนเวียนอยู่ในเศรษฐกิจไทย อีกด้วย
