เปิดตัว Vespa Officina 8 รุ่นพิเศษสุด ที่ผลิตเพียง 88 คันในประเทศไทยเท่านั้น
โดยพื้นฐานมาจากรุ่น GTV 300 ซึ่งตัวรถเดิมก็มีดีไซน์ที่สวยและลงตัวอยู่แล้ว
แต่ในรุ่นนี้ได้เพิ่มเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวด้วยโทนสี Blu Officina 8 เพื่อรำลึกถึง “Officina 8”
หรือ “Workshop หมายเลข 8” — ห้องที่เป็นจุดกำเนิดของ Vespa ในปี 1946
สี Blu Officina 8 นี้ ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากสีของ เข็มกลัด Piaggio 8 Badge
ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่มอบให้กับผู้ที่มีสิทธิ์เข้าไปในห้อง Workshop หมายเลข 8 เท่านั้น

จุดเริ่มต้นของ Vespa
ก่อนจะเป็น Vespa อย่างที่เรารู้จักกันในวันนี้ ต้องย้อนกลับไปถึงปี 1884
เมื่อบริษัท Piaggio ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดย Rinaldo Piaggio (รุ่นพ่อ) ที่เมือง Genoa
ซึ่งเป็นเมืองท่าเรือในอิตาลี
ช่วงแรกบริษัทผลิตเพียงเฟอร์นิเจอร์สำหรับเรือ ต่อมาช่วงสงครามโลกได้พัฒนาไปถึงการผลิตชิ้นส่วนเครื่องบิน
และต่อยอดมาจนถึง เครื่องบินรบ
หลังสงครามโลกสิ้นสุดลง ในยุคของ Enrico Piaggio (รุ่นลูก)
เขามีแนวคิดอยากสร้าง “ยานพาหนะสองล้อสำหรับคนทั่วไป”
จึงเกิดโครงการลับชื่อว่า “Officina 8” หรือ Workshop หมายเลข 8 ขึ้นในปี 1945
ที่นั่นได้รวบรวมสุดยอดวิศวกร — ส่วนใหญ่เป็นอดีตวิศวกรเครื่องบิน —
เพื่อออกแบบยานพาหนะรูปแบบใหม่ จนในที่สุดพวกเขาก็สร้างต้นแบบสำเร็จในปี 1946
ตอนนั้นรถยังไม่มีชื่อ จนมีคนอุทานขึ้นว่า
“มันดูเหมือนตัวต่อเลย!”
และนั่นเองคือจุดกำเนิดของชื่อ “Vespa”
ซึ่งในภาษาอิตาเลียนแปลว่า “ตัวต่อ”
ดีไซน์อันเป็นเอกลักษณ์นี้จึงกลายเป็นสัญลักษณ์ Iconic
ที่คงอยู่ตั้งแต่วันนั้นจนถึงปัจจุบัน

ในปี 2026 ที่จะถึงนี้ Vespa จะครบรอบ 80 ปีแห่งตำนาน
และยังคงเป็นสกู๊ตเตอร์ที่มีดีไซน์ “Timeless” —
สวยเหนือกาลเวลา สมกับคำว่า The Icon of Italian Design.

Vespa Officina 8 — A Special Edition Limited to Only 88 Units in Thailand
The Vespa Officina 8 Special Edition has been officially introduced, with production limited to just 88 units in Thailand.
This exclusive model is based on the GTV 300, a scooter already renowned for its elegant and perfectly balanced design. The Officina 8 edition further elevates its identity with the distinctive Blu Officina 8 color scheme, created in tribute to “Officina 8,” or Workshop No. 8—the birthplace of Vespa in 1946.
The Blu Officina 8 color draws inspiration from the Piaggio 8 Badge, a symbolic pin awarded exclusively to individuals granted access to Workshop No. 8, making it a mark of honor and heritage.

The Origins of Vespa
Before becoming the Vespa we know today, its story dates back to 1884, when Piaggio was founded by Rinaldo Piaggio in the port city of Genoa, Italy.
Initially, the company specialized in manufacturing marine furnishings. During World War II, Piaggio expanded into aircraft component production, eventually developing military aircraft.
After the war, under the leadership of Enrico Piaggio, a new vision emerged—to create “a two-wheeled vehicle for everyone.” This vision led to a secret project launched in 1945, known as “Officina 8” or Workshop No. 8.
There, a team of elite engineers—many of whom were former aircraft engineers—came together to design an entirely new type of vehicle. Their efforts culminated in the successful creation of a prototype in 1946.
At the time, the vehicle had no name, until someone exclaimed,
“It looks like a wasp!”
Thus, the name “Vespa” was born—Italian for wasp.
This unique and unmistakable design soon became an iconic symbol, enduring from that moment to the present day.

In 2026, Vespa will celebrate 80 years of legendary heritage, continuing to stand as a scooter with a truly timeless design—beautiful beyond eras and worthy of its title as “The Icon of Italian Design.”
